front bumper - gaps between wings

Featured Replies

Hi, the gap between the front bumper on my vrs and wings is larger than the normal gaps in the body work. It's as if the whole front bumper is tipped away from the car. like the bumper is about to fall off.

anyone have a similar issue?

anyone know if the dealer could sort on warranty or if it is normal....

Sounds like it has not been refitted right. If you gently prise the bumper away from the wing (torx in wheelarch x 3) then you should see there's a bit of plastic that sticks out from the bumper that goes behind part of the clip screwed to the wing. If it gets the wrong side, it gives the effect you have found. Hopefully, re-clipping it in right will result in it sitting right. Has it been removed for some reason recently? (eg foglight replacement?)

I have a similar problem, I removed the bumper to find that the moulded lip that fits over the plastic bracket had been distorted, presumably by a front end bump. I managed to disguise it by careful refitting of the bumper, but I think the only proper fix is new bumper.

Not that I know of. I've had it since new. only thing I can think of which may have done this is the dealer adjusted the xenons....they don't need bumper off for that do they?

I will take it in one last time and get dealer to do it before it goes out of warranty.

They should not have taken the bumper off to adjust them, as the adjustment should be done after refitting the bumper, but perhaps they took it off anyway, worth asking. If it is under warranty I'd take it to them to sort it
