Suspension Choices ???

Featured Replies

Due to the state of disrepair of the roads here in Northern Ireland. Not too sure what I pay road tax for :( I am considering changing the KW Variant 1 coilies in my Octavia VRS for something with a bit more damping.

I like the ride height but, the comfort thing is getting to me and the car skips in corners when hitting the many bumps. I would also drive a Golf V6 4Motion that has a Koni Kit in it (shocks and springs) and it is a pleasure to drive compared to the solid coilies.

Looking some views on this folks from people who have experienced both. Is the hard ride specific to the KW 1's, would the 2's or 3's be better or will I have to leave coilovers altogether to obtain some comfort and stability?? and has anyone any recommendations?

I'm currently running 19" RS8's and have a set of Spiders going on soon to see if that makes a difference.

Hi

The KW V1`s dont have dampening adjustability

So may be worth getting the V3`s as they have the dampening adjustability

Either that or may be worth going down the route of Koni FSD`s and the H&R springs

Alot has been said for this set up , and in fact we did fit one kit on Monday for a forum member

The V3`s are still firm though , but at least you have some adjustment on the dampening

:D yes you did and I am still grinning :orb_bounc Some of the roads in MK especially around the industrial area's are absolutley disgraceful so I needed a compromise and these fit the bill nicely.

Yeah fsd's and H&R springs is a nice compromise like Lex Dysia says, it's still firm but not too harsh, handles well and there's enough travel not to cause problems.

Hi

Yes it fits the TDi`s too :D

The KW V1`s are £548.94 + VAT

V3`s are £817.87 + VAT

Hope that helps you?
