Eratic idling ??

Featured Replies

Hi

I have been having problems with my 2.0T vrs and just wondering if anyone can shed some light on the situation. When sitting at the lights etc the engine decides to rev to about 2500rpm on its own then all of a sudden drops and also when car is ticking over it is running very lumpy(slight splutter from exhaust). The problem comes and goes but comes more often than goes. Only engine mod fitted is carbonio intake that has been fitted for last year and half.

Its driving me insane as people think i want to race them revving the engine up at the lights but its doing it on its own

my vRS TFSi did that when the chimney with the oil filler cap attached to it managed to snap off and the vacuum in the rocker box was lost

Hi, I will check it out. Recently found engine cover was hanging of as bracket on the front had lost its bolt. Maybe engine cover has damaged it whilst moving around.

Thanks for the advice.

I had exactly this happen to my 06 plate Octy II vRS TFSI approx 6 months ago. Fault light came on eventually - dealer diagnosed it straight off as a sensor on front of rocker cover that needed replacing (was done with no fuss under warranty). Completely cured it.

looks like I'm now having the same problems,

warranty runs out on the 14th so only a few days to get it sorted, just tried Henrys skoda in Glasgow......close at 12pm on a Saturday, now got to wait till Monday to book it in...

might be a good thing to have it plugged into the diagnostics before the warranty runs out and could save a few pennies if they find anything.
