Fitting KW3s and set up

Featured Replies

I just got my new KW any1 got any tips on fitting them and and set up?

Put them on as they come, apart from;

Rear rebound settings are pretty good out of the box.

Set them to their highest position before fitting to the car.

As for settings, depending how firm you want it, I'd add 3 1/4 turns to rear bump and 2 1/4 turns to the front bump (does make it fairly stiff though).

Adjusting front and rear bump can be done on the car, but front bump is fiddly due to the drive shaft.

If you're running 18'' I suggest a ride height of no lower than "2 fingers width" between tyre and arch.

I found the tyres to rub the arch liner otherwise. :rolleyes:

So do KW3's allow you to make the ride more compliant through the extra settings?

Yes they do as you can adjust bump and rebound seperate from each other allowing you to get it how you like it. I'm running standard rebound at the rear, slightly more than standard at the front, combined with increased bump front and rear, which makes it quite fidgety (just done a track day) Need to take some of the bump off to add some compliance back in to take it back to slightly stiffer than standard RS settings.

Thanks lads, i think i'll be fitting D bad boys tomo, and have me new shoe's on monday so i'l note the fingers rule. Think i'l play around wit rebound & compression.

Try it as standard on bump and rebound first, they may be OK but I reckon 1/4 to 1/2 turn off front rebound would be good and as I said, set them as high as you can to start with.
