Hi, my Octavia TDI recently started to cut out randomly. When this happens the car wont start up again, I have noticed that when the glow plug ( coil symbol ) shows on turning the key the car will start.Have also had problems restarting the car after, for example, going into a shop. The coil symbol does not show on turning the key, after a few minutes, getting annoyingly longer, of trying the start routine watching for the coil which will appear eventually. The car then starts perfectly. A neighbour has had the car on a computer and no faults show. I saw a thread earlier which suggested fuel filter and relay 109 problems. Will check those out but wondered if anyone had any other ideas? Please help, I love my car!

Hi, go with the relay - part number 1J0906381A, which should be a cheap fix.

Welcome. The relay is dead is easy to change, did mine at the weekend, took 5 mins, think it cost about £14.

Have replaced 109 relay and, touch wood, seems to have solved problem. Many thanks to fordfan and trundlenut and a big cheer for BRISKODA!!!:thumbup:
