Well having got into the car today quite late in the evening I went to take the handbrake off and the lever released but the handbrake was a bit stiff.

So since it was particularly cold today is this just a case of the mechanism beign cold and freezing a bit so needing a lube, or something else?

Have you tried putting your foot on the foot brake 1st then move the hand brake down? Same when you stop too.

That wasn't helping as I tried that (Used to have a BX).

It's all free and running now anyway, so fingers crossed.
