It was my doctor's phrase. A horizontal line from the top of your hips will pass through the lumbar spine region. As this is the hollow of your back, I assumed the support should be in that area but the mechanism does not appear to go that high.

When I get my car, promised for end Feb, I'll experiment a bit more.

i can get teh lumbar halfway up my back and down to about 3 inches above my belt

I could not get it up as far as my belt.

I'll spend more time on it in the new one, when it comes in about a month.

either you are 9ft tall or the lumbar was knack*red ?

it starts about 6 inches from the joint between the seat base and back and goes up to about 12 inches above.

I suspect it might be the latter.
