Rechipping a 110 tdi

Featured Replies

Hi there, I have a Skoda Octavia tdi elegance 2 1/2 years old. I want to rechip the vehicle for more power. Has anyone done this and if so can you advise me whether it is worthwhile doing it?

All of the VW group TDI,s can be chipped, and are quite easily and commonly done. You should be able to realise at least an extra 20hp and extra torque even from just a plug in " off the shelf" type.

My suggestion would be to look in the private ads in the back of Diesel car magazine as there are always ads for used VW TDI tuning devices/plug in modules. It might give you an insight into the area.

Of course, remapping or re chipping is the prefered method, but for the money I have seen some second hand units going for it is a start.

Cheers

I had a remap and in my opinion it is worth doing! :D

I you want my honest opinion, I would thoroughly investigate all the options before you finally make a decision.

I assumed all rechips would be the same but they are not (I found out the hard way)

I would recommend a remap (as opposed to a rechip).

If its any help I 've had experience with Bromleys (tuning box) Superchip (rechip) and a Jabbachip (remap)

 Matthew.
