Alpine ida x300 connect to iPod

Featured Replies

A friend of mine recently bought the Alpine head unit but is having problems getting the ipod function to work. Every time the ipod is connected an error message "device error" is displayed. Has anyone else got any experience with this, or know any sort of solution?:confused:

How old is the HU and what type of Ipod? If its an older HU and newer ipod, they may not be compatible

Try another older ipod

other info might help

The manual states;

Msg: Device Error

Fault: An ipod that is not supported by the unit is connected.

Solution: Connect an ipod that is supported by the unit

Could be as above. Knowing what generation and type of iPod it is will help too. Also worth hooking it upto iTunes and making sure it's running the latest firmware available.

We managed to sort it out in the end. Needed an additional Alpine cable to connect up the iPod. For some reason you can't use the USB connection to link up an iPod. We tried both a 2g touch and 5th gen classic. for anyone interesed the required cable is the Alpine KCE-422i iPod Cable.

Strange - ah well, at least you're sorted. With my X001 everything required was included.
