polish after wax?

Featured Replies

Would it benefit the the gloss, to polish the car after waxing? incoming probably, but I had to ask :o

No the polish would take the wax off as it's an abrasive, so you must not polish after waxing.

The trouble is a lot of people do not understand the difference between polishing and waxing :)

The reason I was asking, is because I got a kestrel DA for christmas, and I want to keep playing with it..big boys toys and all that :D, but without removing stuff I had already put on

Yep, found Dave's guides on DW very useful when I started. But I must say that Rich's Polished Bliss website was the thing that kicked it all off for me! Polished Bliss - Car Care Products - Car Care Advice - Detailing Services - Scotland - UK - and I've watched him go from strength to strength

But to answer the question above - if you want to use your new toy, you'll need to clean all existing products off and start from the clearcoat up :D - but if done properly you won't regret it.

So read, read and read some more on what the best way to do things is. Presumption is the mother of all **** ups, and all that....

If you want to keep using the DA why not go down the scrappy and get a suitable boot lid off a car, you can practice all sorts of different techniques without damaging the paint on your car. Once your happy with what your doing on the scrap panel then it's time to let youself loose on your own car.
