Does anyone know what this option does in an Octavia mkII? I don't recall seeing it in the manual!

There are two options: "1" and "2", whatever they mean.

Can't remember which one was which but the other setting just enables the green glow around the center knob and the other one disables it. It's mentioned in the Stream's manual.

The manual says this:

"Switch on (value 1) or switch off (value 2) illumination of the controls for the radio."

The problem is, it doesn't seem to make any difference to anything, whatever I select?!

It does make a small difference

select 1 and the large central volume knob will have an illuminated green ring around at all times, even with the lights off

select 2 and the green ring around the large central volume knob will be unlit

I did try this and it didn't make any difference, but I had the IGN off (toggled lights with the light switch), I wonder if it might work differently with it on? I'll try it out tomorrow, thanks!

Yes, when I tried it to check for you earlier, I had it on ignition 2 with the lights off.

You can then toggle between illumination on and off by pressing the button repeatedly until you decide on which you prefer.

personally I dont bother having it lit all the time, but its up to you
