Hazard light weirdness

Featured Replies

Just had my neighbour knocking on the door to tell me that the hazard lights on my car were flashing. Nothing weird about that, you might think......except that they've turned on by themselves.

I left the car this afternoon at about 1545, locked and with no hazard lights on. As of about 5 minutes ago, they were flashing merrily.

It doesn't appear to be an alarm trigger, as there is no siren, and they didn't stop after a certain period of time. Unlocking the car caused them to stop flashing.

Anyone got any ideas what might have caused this?

very odd. I woudl have said alarm but you say you didnt hear it (woudl you have heard it ?)

we had the alarm go off the other night at 3am. it then went off again the following night at 4am. i started to wonder if some cheeky bloke at the factory had secretly programmed my alarm to go off in the middle of the night. Its not gone off since - we have tried with and without the interior sensors on. Its at the dealer tomorrow for warranty work (including that annoying speaker pod vibration !) so i will get them to check out the alarm.

im am sorry if this sounds stupid but is there any way you could have been sat on your key or maybe a child/ pet could have interfered with the key so it was simply trying to unlock or lock the car ?

If it's parked outside on the road it could have been caused by a 'bow wave' of a passing vehicle, have known this before.

(including that annoying speaker pod vibration !)

I hadn't spotted your post about this - one of my rear speakers seems to resonate or buzz under certain audio or engine revs (or combination?) conditions but have not yet nailed down exactly what is doing it

mine is sorted now. the dealer took the door panel apart and found part of the window mechanism was resonating so it all got a good tighten and then they put some foam in there to be certain the cable clips were not vibrating as well.

I have the upgraded system and my fault was almost identical to that experienced by Bagpuss who also has the sound system.
