Anyone Got A TOMTOM LIVE 540 ?

Featured Replies

Just purchased a Tomtom 540 live after reading all the good reviews on it , however after using it i am not that impressed . I have been using the T/Tom 520 for the last 2 yrs and found it spot on , but after using the 540 i think the sound quaility of the voices to be very poor . on my 520 i was using the "uk english jane" setting and it was very good but on the 540 all the voices (all 4 of them) sound very warbled when using to navigate :thumbdwn:

Also the unit has a Vodafone SIM card inside it to use the HD services , does this start up as soon as you turn on the satnav on for the first time ? i thought you had to register it with Vodafone first of all but theres nowt in the box telling you what to do :thumbdwn: i can get the fuel prices / google feature / camera updates on it so i presume its active

Thanks all

i dont have one myself but will be getting one in the near future. As far as i know the live services cost £9.99 per month after your trial period runs out ,so i would imagine that you have to register the unit not 100% sure though:confused:

The info on the box claims to be 3 x months free then £7.99 a month with a months notice to cancel , so u can have it for 3 x months on then off for a few months then put back on for however long you want . By the way cheapest place to get one is Argos £246

Buy TomTom GO540 HD Live with UK and Republic of Ireland. at Argos.co.uk with 6 months intrest free

Also u get £30 free fuel but you have to do this on-line 30 x days after your date of purchase
