Key Fob Pad / Buttons Replacement

Has anyone ever changed the key fob pad buttons (i.e. the lock, unlock and boot release pad)?

Mine is starting to look a bit tatty and found a new one...

I took the key apart, but wasn't sure of the best way of taking the old pad out. I removed the battery so just the transmitter unit remained, but I didnt want to damage it by prising it too hard.

Any suggestions, or is it just a case of grit teeth and prise?
