What products do i buy now?

Featured Replies

I have finally gone and got myself a Foam Lance + 10ltrs of SSF

I now need a couple of products to sort out what i'm missing to give my car a good clean (when it gets warmer).

Products i have already

Meguiars Glass cleaner,nxt wax,3 stage cleaner,polish,wax,nxt shampoo,colly 476 and wash mitt etc..

I'm missing a good plastic cleaner as my bumper inserts are as bad as they get and i good wheel cleaner (i know i don't wash them - yet) as opposed to the wonder wheels i have.

I will be giving it a good clean and trying to keep it like that for a change.

ValetPro Bilberry Wheel Cleaner seems to get got reports - I've got a sample but not tried it yet....

I am not as good as you guys at the detailing thing, but I have been using the Billberry cleaner in a 5 - 1 dilute solution with excellent results.

I also mix a bit of Johnsons Baby Shampoo in with my snowfoam, and wash the car with it. The johnsons variety is salt free unlike the cheaper asda / tesco copies. But I am a cheap assed car washer :) (PS Jay, I owe you some money :))

I will have to get some as Wardy frowns when i mention WW.

you could do all your shoping at valet pro to be honest,

bilbery is a fantastic wheel cleaner i use is on every wheel apart from steel wheels.

it can be diluted if needed or it is safe to use on most wheels neat, (chrome and polished i would dilute it)

also your bumper inserts can be done with valet pro protectant, http://www.valetpro.co.uk/Products/Dressings/Protectant

Another vote for Bilberry here.........

Megs Wheel Brightner is great stuff but needs to be used carefully, dependant on what wheels you have or as another option I use Megs APC which can again be diluted to suit and is great on Polished components..........

Yes, you're right - I do get upset :P

Bilberry does seem to be getting good reviews. TBH I get good results using varying degrees of Virosol concentration when I need to clean wheels, so I'll refrain from adding yet another product to the arsenal! Then I'd protect them with some 476, seeing as you've got that already. Additionally, maybe some PB Wheel Sealant or Baker's favourite Jetseal 109 :)

For bumper inserts - do you mean the black plastic strips on the vRS bumpers? I'd suggest Meguiar's Vinyl Cleaner for those. I've got some myself, so if you want a trial run... - have seen it in action on a vRS Mk1 and they came up a treat. Then I'd protect those bits with 303 Protectant - will give them a bit of UV protection and a matt finish, so they should hopefully stay their proper colour for a bit longer

Should be in Macc on both Fri and Sun evenings this coming week, or give me a shout when it gets a bit warmer and you're more likely to want to get out there :D

Ok i gave in and ordered some of this

Detailing World

Seemed to get good reviews and should last me a long long time the amount of times i clean my wheels.

I have no excuse to clean this after this arrives.

Used the SSF mix with Tesco Daisy APC (just a dash) and Megs NXT car wash, came out really will and there is 'No' excuse for me to have a dirty car anymore.
