okay the rns 510 is proving quite dear for me atm :( wondering my car is Octy II fitting with reverse sensors. What will happen if a non standard system is installed, will it still function? or is there something I need to do?

It should still beep, but you won't get the visual on the screen :)

Where does the beep come from? lol isn't it the speakers?
