My Superb II 1.9Tdi 105 PD has covered 2,900 miles and just returned exactly 680 miles on a tank of derv.

Today at the pump (Tesco, as they are offering 5p off a litre if you spend over £50 in-store) I filled up with 57.00 litres (couldn't get more in and fuel had already drained through the breather hole). This equates to 12.527 gallons and an accurate 54.28mpg. Granted this is mainly motorway driving at between 60-70mph, however, it is still impressive, particularly as the engine is still running in.

I wonder how this figure compares to what is achievable in a Superb Greenline?

My Superb is fitted with the factory 16" Spectrum alloy wheels which came shod with low rolling resistance Michelin Energy Saver tyres.

Thats fantastic (in my 1.9 Octy II i was averaging approx 53mpg with mainly motorway driving).

Just done over 4400 miles in the 2.0 Tdi 140 SE now and currently averaging 43mpg, based on miles done and fuel in (MFD says 46mpg - 47mpg).

Last fill up i got 490 miles out of the tank and put in 46.8 ltrs - the best yet! (again, mainly morotrway driving)

Had my 170 CR Elegance 6 weeks and a bit now got 7500 on clock computer reads 45 MPG mainly motor way but then into London for last ten miles.

I'm hoping it will also improve in time.

With a little care, although not driving like a granny I can get 54mpg on the MFD on my 170 manual, I guess that's about 50mpg for real.

Not trying MFD shows in the region of 42-45mpg.

In my 115k mile Octy II 1.9Tdi I usually saw 600-630 miles out of a tank (55 litres/12.08 gallons), based on mainly motorway driving. This equated to approx 50-52mpg.

based on my earlier comment at my last fill up:

miles: 492.6

litres put in: 46.8 (10.29 gallons)

equates to 47.85 mpg

above based on predominantly motorway driving though does include a coupl of 20-30mins stints on the M8 at rush hour

more of the same please (though i did notice a bit of the old kangaroo action at times)
