Is this normal?

Featured Replies

Hi all, just gave the fabia vrs a oil change and noticed an oil leak on a pipe. the pipe in question is approx 2" diameter its part rubber, metal and plastic it starts behind the engine at the top and goes to the front of the engine (drivers side) then goes all the way down to the bottom inside the wheel then goes back into the middle of the engine bay. the leaks are very slight and mainly from the connections at the bottom of the pipe. is this normal?

If it's the pipe I think it is, it's one of the Turbo boost pipes, and yes slight oil leakage is common, if you have not done the PCV elephant hose modification. It is also likely, your intercooler will have oil in it, and that should be cleaned out.

Loads of how to do it DIY on here, with a search.

The oil is from crankcase fumes, as the PCV system feeds blowby gases back into the air intake.
