worried

Featured Replies

im on my 5th octy now with this one being a 1.9tdi dsg elegance ... im a little worried about its running though. it has covered 35000 kms .. so not a lot ( its an 08 ).. heres the thing its getting a little harder to start in the mornings and idles very roughly for about 5 mins ... . and when changing from forward to reverse or vice versa it givesw what i can only describe in a manual type explanation a severe clutch bite or snap for a second almost telling me its in gear then as normal labours under foot braking

has anybody else experienced these mood swings in start-up and drive ????

Has it been serviced? Or have you checked the oil?

thanks james yes just over a service fuel air oil filters changed with oil of course ..... this car differs from the previous ones ive had in that i feel service interval is very long 30000 kms, is this the new norm

The car is still in warranty, so the best thing to do is to drop into the dealer to get it checked out.

the thing with the dealers is that on a intermittent fault where it isnt always noticeable they rarely are interested ... i was lucky on the last one re the ring gear i think it was with the dealer .. they replaced before it actually broke down . but i hate to hassle them when i myself dont know what the problem is ... short of them having to hold onto the car for a few days of cold starts or driving it till warm then changing motions from forward to reverse a few times what else can i do ...

Is it just me or are a lot diesels (all makes) causing a lot of problems for people now days? The motoring press seems littered with issues plus many owner forums like this people seem to be having lots of problems.

Any hope you get it sorted.

James.

booked the car in with the dealer today for next week .. heading away skiing for a week so they can deal with it while im away.. incidentally what else should i flag to them to have a look at ... a common fault maybe that i could get sorted before it goes wrong on mine thanks gang

by the way the dealer didnt seem too surprised with my queries so is this commonplace with the diesels now.
