Is it worth upgrading the air filter pre remap?

Featured Replies

Is it worth upgrading the air filter on my Fab VRS prior to the remap session at Jabbasport in an effort to squeeze a few more BHP out of the engine? If so which is the best filter to go for? :)

Yes and Green panel ;) Assuming you're not going the induction kit route..........

Chris

green panel may allow a little BHP to be achieved in the remap but add on a feeflowing exhaust and the remap will give even more improvements.

Is there an induction kit for the Fab VRS ? and who makes the 'Green panel' filter?

sorry to sound like i'm taking the p*ss but Green Filters make the "green panel" filter.

any modes like filters and exhausts are best done pre rempa as the extra mods can then be taken into account at the time of the remap.

One other thing mite be worth noting is the ECU may have to learn it is there. Can be achieved quickly by removing battery terminals and resetting them. you'll have another 200 or so mile learning curve but results will improve when you have relearnt. (unless fabias/octavias are hyper intelligent and detect it after 1 mile)

In theory the ECU should adapt. However it may take a few miles.

In practice it is advisable to get any mods done before you have a remap....gives a bigger hit at once. ;)

Agreed - and then when the remap is relearning the components available, it will be tuned slightly better.
