Steering (over) assistance problem

Featured Replies

As per the title, the EPS seems to be delivering full assistance at any speed.

This is making the car extremely twitchy and it follows any dip/undulation/camber change which means I am constantly correcting my course which all adds up to a very tiring drive, as my daily commute is 200 miles at present I need to get this one sorted PDQ! :(

I don't think its a coincedence that the car was in for the intermittent cruise problem on Thursday, I heard mention of some coding changes but didn't pay much attention to it. Is there any chance something has been altered which would affect the speed sensitivity and/or the overall steering weight settings?

I have the full fat VCDS so can have a look provided I knew where!

Any help is course hugely appreciated.

I have sort of got used to my steering playing up, as I recently drove down to Tours in France and the motorways are great. Coming back I realised how awful my 25 mile daily commute was as the motorways are very bad.

The whole thing was driving me crazy as nobody believed me, especially Skoda. My car was okay, then went in to have a new rack then came back with dodgy steering!

Please see my post in...

Knocking sound from under car, engine mounting ?

I'm pretty sure the assistance is changeable, but off the top of my head I can't remember where. I usually log in to the controller in question and then open the label file for that part number in the Ross-Tech\Labels folder, in there you'll find all the coding/adaptation options.

channel 44, option 07 adaptation, channel 1.

Mine isn't adjustable and apparently the newer ones are not adjustable either.
