hey got a lil 1.3 felicia l and want to lower it, Wonderin if u's no anywer that sells springs cheapish ?? or if i could fit springs for another car lol ??

there are loads of spring kits available, but it's finding the dampers which is the hard part

Whatever you do, don't blowtorch the originals! All that does is spoil the tempering.

IF the originals are straight ended rather than little ended at the open end, you could cut them, but this will change your wheel rates, so it would be time to break out the calculator first.

No problems mate. I've been messing about with cars since before you were born, and live by the motto that "growing old is compulsory; 'growing up' isn't"!! Which means I've managed to get experience (and a fair bit of it by letting other people make mistakes, and remembering that their mistakes were mistakes), but won't say "this is a bad idea" without some sort of reason.

Oh and I did a bit of metallurgy before transferring to computers.

haha, i once cut a set of springs down for a mate on a ford sierra, but after i'd chopped it i realised i'd cut it in the wrong place :D

Was that taking a turn out of the little end? (qv)
