Hello everyone! I have recently purchased my third Skoda Felicia and I must say it's good to be back. I have previously owned a 97 Estate 1.3 in maroon and a light green metallic 98 1.3 lxi hatch, my new purchase is a 97 1.6 GLXi hatch in metallic dark blue and despite needing a bit of tidying, is money well spent in my opinion. Its a car I can use daily and repair at will. I am hoping to systematically rebuild the car and upgrade as required. Just thought I'd drop by and say hi first of all!

how does the 1.6 compare to the 1.3's ?

Hi, I am in Bridgnorth in Shropshire.

The 1.6 seems quite pokey but then so did the 1.3, tho I find the 1.6 is happier taking hills in fourth or fifth gear. Fuel economy has suprised me too, but then like I said, I spend more time in top gear so its probably not far off the economy of my old 1.3.

The rear arches are corroding (apparently common?) neither of my old skoda's had a speck of rust on them!
