Replacement Felicia 1.3 MPI ECU

Featured Replies

Has anyone got any idea where I could get a ECU for my Skoda Felicia 1.3mpi. I've been in contact with Skoda main dealers and even they can't locate one doing a national search, if they could it was going to cost more than my car is worth.

The Skoda dealers advised me to try and find a used ECU but I've contacted a few breakers yards and searched ebay and around the internet but still can't find the exact one. I'll continue with my search today.

If anyone has any links to any sites it would be greatly appreciated or if anyone has a spare one would be even better.

Does anyone know of a Volkswagen part that would work?

Failing all else, could I replace the multipoint with singlepoint injectors (or a complete head) and use a Bosch ECU?

The ECU is a Siemens 5WP4 248 part number 047 906 030 B, the B has been superseded with M

Thanks

I have used these in the past for parts and have been very impressed:

car parts | used car spares | scrap yards - 1st Choice Spares

Just register and enter the vehicle details and what you need and breakers yards will contact you with prices then just choose the cheapest one, pay and they will get it send out.

Have bought a crank sensor and an engine through that site before.

whereabouts are you from? might be worth visiting a local breakers yard, you only need a 10mm spaner to remove the ecu..

edit: actually thinking about it, i think you only need a philips screwdriver

besides from that, why do you think the ecu is bust? they dont often go wrong

quick look on ebay reveals this one up for breaking linky

All sound advice. The only real alternatives I can think of would be a Megasquirt or Emerald.

Thanks for all the advice.

The car is sat in a garage, its them who told me it was the ECU, and Skoda main dealers said it was the ECU.

I did manage to get hold of a used one so I'm just waiting to drag it up to the main dealers to get it re-programmed.

Thanks for all your help, greatly appreciated.

Hi how much does it cost for re-programming the ECU? I had the same problem as u which is apparently a common problem due the alternator over charging and blowing the ecu, did the steering wheel air bag blow up as well?

Cheers
