I got it!

Featured Replies

today i got the car. i did 110 miles already. it drives very nice. DSG7s is extremely smooth.

comfortability at the highest levels.... only just a bit of wind noise but it is acceptable(skoda will never learn :) )

Unfortunately here it is raining badly, so i took couple of fotos in the garage. limited space there and no light// they came out dark...i will try to post some better pics later...

yeah mate...lovely engine...i drove it mainly in drive. i could not resist so i used manual and sport for a bit with max rpm 4,500...i have to let it run for a bit before i give it a good one...

for the time being i am very impressed with the way the car corners...it is like a train!

definately more fotos and assessment to follow...

Are you referring to the wind noise from the new style mirrors? I noticed it when the passenger window was down a touch. Never mind, third time lucky maybe?

Anyways, congratulations on the new car, sounds like you are enjoying that DSG box too much already :D:thumbup:

Meant to ask you, is the Maxi-dot a factory fit option on your car as it is in the UK ? If so, did you have to add it to the Multi Function Steering Wheel on the extras list or did the M.F.steering wheel come as a complete package by including the Maxi-dot.?

:woot:

Glad you're enjoying it!

They are listed as separate factory fit items in the UK brochure and the wording of it is a little ambiguous - now there's a surprise! When I queried this with my dealer, they spoke to 'someone' at Skoda UK who said the M.F.steering wheel actually included the Maxi-dot within that package and therefore we only needed to order the MF steering wheel to get the Maxi-dot. It was left at that and my dealer assumes (dangerous thing that) by ordering the MF wheel only, it will arrive complete with Maxi-dot.

If you ordered and were charged both components, bearing in mind that they can only fit them the once, how would you ever know? You may even have ended up paying for the Maxi-dot twice - unless Skoda's information was incorrect ? If so, I can visulise my car turning up complete with its steering wheel Maxi-dot control buttons and no Maxi-dot to control !!!

Hmmm - a grey area in urgent need of clarification.

i had to go back to the papers to clarify some things....

so the situation with my car was that my dealer offered a package of many options for the price of EUR 500. in this package the maxi dot was included. However, i had to order the multifunction steering with the paddles separetely.

Just had written confirmation from Skoda that on the TSI Elegance the M.F. wheel includes the Maxi-dot as well - so there is only need (UK) to order the steering wheel to get it.

Phew!
