MFD2 Installation - quick question.

Featured Replies

Fitting an MFD2, and following Stu's great instructions, but can anyone confirm if I need to make any changes to the Aux in and CD changer for a 2008 Octy ll ? Reading the instructions seems to suggest changes are only needed for 2007 models or earlier. Many thanks.

i fitted it to my 2006/2007 octavia vrs mkII and i have the crackle noise an mentioned so i will need to sort out the earth problem as per stu s advice guide. so i guess you will need to do the same. i have the aux arm rest port and cant get it to work now anyway.

AFAIK it's only the 2006 model year cars (which will include some 2007 registered cars before everyone shouts - mine is one such example) which need to be changed over.

Yours being a 2008 should not need it.

You will need to change the CD grounding connection, the MFD2 is based on the earlier wiring system from 2005 which was revised for newer models.

if you look at the diagrams at the bottom of Stus guide. Octavia-vRS.com - MFD2 Install Guide Look at the Stream MP3 which your car has, then compare that to the MFD2 you will see the change in the ground location on the top connector. Aux in is in a totally different location on the MFD2 and will need a new connector for the MFD2.
