I thought a mfd2 was the same across all vag vehicles, just different light colours.

Yes it will fit, but the startup logo and illumination will be a different colour.

If you are changing from a Stream/Audience you will also need a replacement radio surround.

Some light recoding would also be required, fitting the MFD2 without it can make the maxi dot crash and it will log faults on the car too.
