engine management light, and 'spring' light

Featured Replies

I was on the way down a country lane, when a large truck was coming the opposite way at speed, and I had to jam on to stop. My left wheel went slightly into the verge, and my car shuddered to a halt in third. I didn't have the clutch down at the time, so she just conked out.

When I switched on the engine again, I got two warning lights on the dash. One on the left was an orange spring icon, the one on the right was the engine icon.

Could anyone have any idea of what might have happened? The car seems to be driving fine, with no noticable over-heating, strange sounds or whatever.

I assume you mean the coil light by spring.

Either way it will need the fault codes read to find the cause.

Doesn't the coil light illuminating (when the engine's running fine) mean it's a brake light bulb failure?

It can indicate that, but its not the only reason.

Thought so. Worth a check though for a few pence :)
