No i havent got the coneector in armrest.

Need to know whats easiet way to do it, what parts i need and where to get them from and also anyone that done it to tell me how to do it.

Octavia-vRS.com - Ipod Adaptor

Above link from octavia-vrs.com has an article on how to fit the VW ipod connector to your head unit (and costing).

Also search the Briskoda forums for dension ice link -this is another connector for the ipod which has good write ups.

Not sure if they are the easiest way to do it but proably the best.

Good luck.

not sure if it would work as i think it needs to be a stream mp3 onwards

Go for a Parrot MKi9000, 9100 or 9200. That way you get a handsfree phone kit and an iPod/USB/Line-in/bluetooth music player.

ISO fittings and takes half a day or so depending on how you route the cables.

I installed a Connects2 adaptor in my Fabia, but I think they do a similar unit to suit the Octy (possibly the CTASKIPOD003 but please do some research to confirm)

Price would be around £60 excluding fittig, but relatively simple to install.

Here is a link to pics of my set-up - http://briskoda.net/ice-security-insurance/connects2-ipod-adaptor-fabia-vrs-pics/134581/

And here is the Connects2 website - Connects 2,Car Audio integration specialists

Wardy has just installed a Connects2 in his Octy and might be able to give you more info - http://briskoda.net/ice-security-insurance/connects2-ipod-kit-octy-continual-charging/142418/

Magic Tape!

The Grom Ipod control unit works perfectly, and plugs into the CD Changer socket. I have got a parrot 9000i in the Roomster, the one without the display, but it's neat and discreet and the iphone screen is big enough to see who is calling etc.

Carephonewarehouse have them going pretty cheap at the moment also.

Mate get a belkin auto clear scan. Cost about £35quid if you look around the net. I've got one very clear music coming through your radio. Plus it also charges your iPod

I think that is 2007 MY onwards. My 06 certainly didn't have it (which was slightly annoying).

I've got the earlier Denison Ice kit in mine. You don't need a Stream MP3 unit, as the kit "pretends" to be a cd changer, so you can select a different playlist by selecting a different CD on the HU.

Pretty easy to fit, just plugs in the back of the HU in place of the CD changer, plus an earth wire, and you run the Ipod connector into the glove box.

Word of warning though, the earlier units don't charge iPhones, or iPod touch' s. I believe the later ones do now however.

Hi,

Just took delivery of our Octy vRS with a Dension GW100 fitted. Have so far sussed basic playback from our iPod, and track skipping, but no real joy or confidence re: selecting playlists etc. We have a Stream headunit (think it's the most basic?), but I don't get the impression it can display much info from the iPod re: track detail, playlist names, etc? Or do I need to do some "configuring"?

The Dension 1-sheet manual feels a bit sparse...or maybe I just need to go sit in the driveway and experiment!

cheers for any insights

Campbell

PS - loving the Skoda life. What a car! And to think we used to have an Impreza Turbo...

I have indeed and it's working well. I may, however, upgrade to one of the Parrot MKi systems, as I need Bluetooth as well anyway and it looks a good system.

So PM me if you want a well-priced Connects2 system :) - whereabouts are you? Might even offer you a fitting service for it

Steve
