SEAT Splitter Question

Featured Replies

Just a quick question, i have just bought a leon splitter for my Fabia and am going to install it tomorrow. One i take it this is quite easy too do, the second is has anyone colour coded a splitter on here? if so any pics? :D

Any help would be great cheers!

Its a fairly easy task, I'm sure if you search there's a guide on how to do it somewhere on here.

I jacked her up, offered the splitter up, figured where to cut to small parts out to aid the curve, and predrilled holes it the splitter, used self tapping screws to fit into bottom of bumper, starting from centre using tape to hold in place and a mates eye to judge the centre.

Easy!

Good luck....

Put mine on like last week . . . Didnt colour coded it, it wouldnt suit my end idea for the car coded. But to answer your first question; its a piece o p**s! ;)

I just whipped my bumper off, turned it upside down, lined up the splitter and then screwed through the plastic with aload of self tappers. It aint going no where, the hardest part of the job was taking bumper off!

Colour coding the splitter might look good to start with, but stone chips etc will probably eventually make it look very tired and tatty

Cheers! i did find the guide just seeing what the over all thought was on ease of doing this. I guess it may chip off after time ill stick with the red/black theme ive got planned then :D and taking the bumper off must be so much more work?

fitting is not too bad, just lining it up is the tricky part when you have to make the cuts to get it to flow with the bumper.

colour coding is a major no-no, it would look terrible.

Well took dayve's advice and decided to "whip off" the bumper... 3 hours or so later finally got it off. Have to say in the long run made this a lot easier. At least now I know how too do it :D I might put some pics up later but too be honest there are a load of splitters already LOL.

The only problem now is do I spray my fogs? And if so can they be taken out without taking the bumper off again!

If you decide you wanna spray the fogs, yeah - they'll come out without takin the bumper off dude! ;)

Do they just pull out? Is there a guide maybe?

Guide = Grab em & pull!

Cool, they won't snap? I take it they need to be keyed to be sprayed?

They felt pretty sturdy to me matey! Sorry keyed - not quite following you there.

One thing i will say about them is they are in stone chip central! Im gonna redo mine when i can be bothered!

If its' already got paint on it then it will need to be keyed yes, just flat it down with some wet & dry.
