Anyone got a Dension Gateway fitted to a Stream H/U?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Does anyone have any experience of fitting a Dension Gateway 100/300 to a Stream MP3 H/U? I am wondering what sort of control I can expect over my iPhone - is it the usual first five playlists or can I expect to select by artist, album etc.? Also will the Maxidot display song title information - I believe that the H/U will not.

My local car audio fitter has offered to fit an ipod kit (made by ICD I think) which will remove my CD changer and only allows me to play 5 playlists - the Dension's ability to retain the changer and possibly have more control over my music appeals to me. Not to mention the USB input on the Gateway 300.

Also does anyone have any views over where to run the ipod cable to? I was thinking about the jumbo box to avoid having to lean into the glove compartment all the time, but am also wondering if the cable could be routed to the smaller "glovebox" by my right knee or the storage on the dashboard.

Many thanks

PS

Mods, apologies for the double post - the Octavia forum seems to attract more views than the ICE forum.

The dension gateways mentioned are the same, they connects to the CD changer input. The only difference here is you get the option to switch between the ipod and changer. You will still only get the playlists etc. as offered by the other alternative.

Its not possible to get full ipod control via the stream headunit itself as it does not have the capability built into the headunit.
