Superb 1.8T remap

Featured Replies

Hi All

I used to have a Cupra that had been remapped by the previous owner to 225bhp.

The Superb as standard is 150bhp. A standard remap seems to boost an additional 50bhp or so. Has anyone had a remap on their 1.8T? If so, were further modifications required? Where did you feel the difference and how was the fuel economy affected? The Cupra had 6 gears, i assume having 5 gears doesn't really matter?

And finally wheres the best place to do the remap near the East London (stratford) area?

Thanks

Hi

We have done a few 1.8T engines , and I must admit 5 speed and also 6

There are a few maps out there like APR what we do , that will offer you a 6 hour free trial

So may be worth having a look out for someone who can offer that for you , then you can try before you buy..... also see just how much more extra fun you can have

I have a map on my little Fabia 100PD 5 speed , and i must admit , I love it and find that the 5 speed gears are quite a bit more fun

Thanks Sarah.

With smaller cars the extra power will make the car fly. Wasnt too sure how it will affect the bigger heavier cars. Im not a racer however must admit i am trying to find the Cupra in the Superb. I got so used to the power. I have not pushed the Superb yet and was hoping the extra power will make the car in the lower gears a little more smoother.

Is the fuel economy improved (a bit)?

Hi

yes driven like for like you will get better fuel economy

The Octy vRS only has a 5 speed box too , they are 180bhp as standard and then 207 with a remap

So again , another quite larger car

What could I get with the Superb? Starting from the standard remap to the custom? Will I need to change/upgrade any parts and where are you based?

Hi

The Superb will be the same

It is not custom , we use APR , we are based in Manchester , but there are others that can do you a free trial , so you can at least see what it can do

APR Europe - Total Engineered Performance for Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT and Skoda Vehicles

There is a link to see if there is someone local

All are pretty good , but if you have any questions , please feel free to ask back

Nothing requires changing at all , it is not harsh you see , APR had a 1.8T engine`d car that was stage 3 with the larger turbo and it had all standard parts on , including the DV

A diagnostic check is done before and after too , just to make sure that all is OK

Hope that helps? but if not , feel free to ask as that is what I am here for
