Felicia Lights

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got an R reg 1.6 Felicia.

Has recently started being temperamental with the lights. This currently happens very intermittently. I switch on the main button and they flash on and then go off, a few more attempts and they stay on. They have however turned off while driving and I was forced to hold my finger on the button to keep them on. This is making me think that it's a problem with button?

My interior light has also just stopped working when I open either the passenger or the driver's door. It works when I click it to the on position though. It's not a major problem and I can live without it operating I am just hoping it's not indicative of a larger electrical fault.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. I have a little knowledge about cars etc but not a particularly high level!

sounds like a dodgy switch to me, they only cost a few quid

Hi and welcome. I think you're right and it will be the switch that needs replacing. Interior light will probably also be the door switch (try pressing and releasing it to see if you can encourage the light to come on). But have a look in the fusebox which is situated in the passengers footwell near the bonnet release (there's a bit to unscrew and it flips down) and look for any signs of dampness. A number of people have been plagued with leaking windscreen seals - the water can get into the fusebox and cause little gremlins. I strongly doubt this is the case in this instance though :)

I'll try the door switch and the fusebox - thanks for the advice. I'll let you know how I get on!

EDIT - thanks for the eBay link! I'll order one now.

Price war :D

To be honest dealers will probably cost more and you'd no doubt have to order and go back in a day or two to collect.

Thanks, I ordered one for a tenner, can't go wrong at that price really!

Reading the Haynes manual is the only way of changing it by having to remove the entire instrument panel or is there an easier way to access just the buttons?
