anyone know how to get xenons setup

Featured Replies

Preferably someone who knows how skoda do it, or work for them. What is the correct procedure to set up the xenons and how is it done? i dont want to be pointed to vag com as ive tried that tonight and nothing different.

~Now everytime i take the car in they seem to mess with the lights and cause some problem and on the third or forth time they now seem to be able to adjust the lights really low when the first time they said the lights couldnt be adjusted any lower. im so peed off with it to be truthful and will be asking (as i will be waiting for the car on friday to be done) that i am present when the guy adjusts them.

Why lower?

well just got back from the garage after waiting for someone to ring me back for over two hours. they took it around to the mot place and adjusted them there and found n/s was 1.26 out and o/s .20 looks a bit better against my garage door but i still dont think they right.

It just makes me laugh the set them yesterday saying they correct yet i havent touched them and they now telling me they out... explain that one. no doubt i will end up having to have them look at them again friday as now the n/s full beam against the garage door dont look right :(

This is only a rough guide to check if badly out. DO NOT USE IT TO ADJUST YOUR LIGHTS!

About 8 ft from a wall, on level ground, the top of the beam on the wall should be level with or lower than the top of the head light glass.

Inside the car, the pattern should look like a stretched out M.

Attached is a crude, over exagerated sketch of what outs looks like. I'll try and grab a pic tomorrow eve against a wall - unless anyone else does the honours first.

thanks all, on the way home tonight it was much better with no headlight flashes. however the full beam is a waste of space now only illuminating trees and the area just in front of the car and not to long distant as it was (and slightly high). How do i now sort out the full beam, mainly the focus of it so that i can actually illuminate the area ahead of where the dip beam sits.

Since getting mine set right, I've noticed main beam is pretty much redundant. It just fills the top of where the xenon beam stops and adds a bit of range. This too's been checked a number of times, and since the blocks were removed from the suspension (only 24k too late ) and rechecked, I have an alignment report that says they're now to Skoda tollerances.

Also, the levelling seems irratic if the cars been started on a hill. usually setting them to high, or low. Some days I can see the bottom cut off, other days only lighted road.

Perhaps it's the cars computers fault?
