Ok, the silver trim isn't that unusual, but having done of the "off button mod" on both this and my previous Octy II I was determined to get the button labelled - Well my search of eBay finally came up trumps - brand new Passat climate control unit was purchased for a very reasonable £11.19 (inc carriage from Germany).

So now not only do I have the Off button, but I have the chrome rings and the more tactile rotating outers too

All I need to do now is to source the two correctly coloured/sized/rated LEDs for the lettering illumination & off indication, and then pluck up the courage to solder them in place :eek:

You could connect the LED as a slave to the fan, which I suppose is far easier to do. Do you want the LED to be on when the climate control is off, or vice versa?

I thought from numerous threads on here, that the gubbins to get the on/off switch lit up wasn't actually feasible, even though we all know you can just take the plastic bit off the back off the switch to get it to work like in a VW?
