short term insurance

Featured Replies

My son is currentry in NZ but is coming home at the end of May for about 3 months, before heading back out.

He has ask me to look out for a cheap run about for him while he is here. As he is only home for 3 months will there be any problems getting insurance for this short period.

He is 22 and had 3 points but they may well be spent now.

I think the maximum short term insurance can run is 1 month. Just checked on a few and that seems to be the case.

You could just sign up for a 12 month policy and then cancel after the 3 months (or just before probably) and you shouldn't loose too much if you use monthly payments.

That's the only way I can think of doing it.
