Central Locking issue/LED

Featured Replies

Had a weird issue this AM. Unlocked my 57 VRS TDI, drove to the postbox - 5 miles or so away. Locked the car (plips as normal) posted my stuff and then back in the car to work (another 2 miles). On arriving at work 'locked the car' I noticed the plip on lock had stopped (no huge issue) but then found the car doors to be unlocked, despite it sounding as if it had locked. The alarm went off when the door was opened. Eventually I was able to lock the car (plip still gone) but now the LED in the door is on constantly.

I have had no electrical systems changed or fitted, no towbar fitted, no bulbs or fuses out.

A search of the forum hasn't revealed an answer

Check that the boot is shut properly. I once had this and although the boot appeared shut even according to maxidot it wasn't. Otherwise do a scan with VCDS if you have it or know someone with it

Got back home and the rear drivers side door wouldn't lock. After two hours on and off trying different things out, I went out to the car and unlocked the drivers door with the key, opened it and the rear door, alarm sounded so used the button to open the car fully. The led went bonkers. Closed the doors and locked with the key and the plip is back, indicators flash and all doors locked.

The car is booked in on Tuesday for some warranty work on the tailgate so they will have a look at the door then.

Mine has just done something similar. when you press the plipper the led stays on and the red light in the drivers door remains solid...but you can still open the drivers door even though its supposed to be locked...all other doors are. Then the alarm under the bonnet goes off but you can hardly hear it and the hazards flash. Locked it with the key and order was restored, but I;ll need to get it booked into the skoda dealer for a look before the warranty runs out......is this covered by warranty, does anyone know??

My car is now with the dealer. Didn't fully open the car all week. I arrived at the dealer and decided to try it. The same thing happened again. But then locked after another go. As far as the garage were concerned they were going to sort it while it was with them for another job.

Car now back with me. The lock assembly was replaced under warranty.
