Alpine DVD rough install

Featured Replies

Just been out to see what i new HU looks like in the dash. It's a Alpine IVA-D310RB.

The only problem is that it seems to be slightly to deep to fit in the dash properly so i will have a proper look at weekend.

Sound quality is excellent on standard speakers and pretty impressed with the picture and the sound on DVD is excellent.

Need to mount the brain somewhere, probably be in the boot.

I think i will have to do the same to mine.

I have a D310 myself and its an excellent unit, can't remember what exactly i cut but i believe i cut the rear central support bar out completely to make it easier to get the unit in easier

It fits nicely in a Mk2 :)

I hid the brain box in the rear 1/4 but the included loom is not very long and I had to use some imagination to move the h/u cable behind the glovebox.

i did this with my single din so it would sit properly aswell. simple job to do.

Have another look at this tonight and with a little tidying i think it will just fit in without any cutting.

Hopefully if the weather is ok i will get chance to fit it and run the wiring neatly to the rear were i will be mounting the brain. So many bloody wires.

I did look at mounting it in the lower position but it sits to low to use properly.

May be getting a Alpine TME770 touch screen as well so little one can watch a DVD will we listen to the radio/ipod.

This unit is so versatile how it will do more than one thing at a time.

I need to dig out the rest of my gear now.;)
