Got a problem with my boot, turns out it has decided not to open which is a bit of a problem on an estate!

I have taken the panel off the boot and jiggled about with it a bit to try and get it to open but to no avail - Check out the pics and let me know if you can help!

Have you tried taking off the bottom of that rod (should just push off) and pushing the mechanism at the bottom (bit with the slot) either up, or down?

They can stick on the seal all the way around and require a hefty pull (with the button pushed in) to open.

Removed the grey trim around the lock and forced it open! Looks like it was just gunked up - sprayed some de-greaser in there and then oiled it and it seems to be fine now!

I have a similar problem with the boot on my felly: it won't open from the lock on the boot, only from the lever next to the driver's seat.

So do you mean you removed the grey plastic on the outside of the boot? The decoration on top of the license plate that is? Have to try that also some sunny day.
