Speakers for a Skoda Fabia

I have a 2001 Skoda Fabia that I managed to purchase with a blown front left speaker and seeing as I am still getting used to how awesome it is to be able to drive and have music at the same time I want to replace it (curse those driving lessons with their straight laced no music no window down approach to driving )

Now I believe that I have read as many threads as I can find here on Fabia I speaker fitting, I have the tools ready, An idea on what adapters I am going to use but there is one thing left that I have no clue on. The speakers themselves.

I am wondering what anyone who has upgraded their speakers here used to get around the lack of depth available for fitting speakers, I am trying to stay away from components for my sanity but any recommendations would be very very welcome

One more thing, With the speaker adapter rings, I have been looking at Car Audio Direct - VW/Seat/Skoda speaker adaptors - Fitting Adaptor

But as I understand it any golf ones from that era will work, And as such I am curious if this will work
