Golf R32 Front ARB

Featured Replies

I purchased a second hand one of these. Will it fit using the standard VRS bush mounting brackets with the R32 bushes. I am guessing it is just the inner dia hole that is different i.e 21mm as apposed to 19mm.

Also anyone know the powerflex p/n or superpro p/n for the R32 bush should i go that way.

Also anyone know the super pro bush p/n for the rear of the front wishbone for the VRS. My powerflex ones are knackered after only 8 months.

Let me know how you get on fitting the ARB yourself mate.

I want to change mine soon, but I'm a little unsure of the process.

I'm planning on replacing the front ARB, both front wishbones and both ball joints at the same time. Just gathering all the bits at the mo.

As far as I'm aware it's just a different bush to take the 21mm bar. I'm assuming you use the same clamps and drop links. Haven't decided which bar to get myself yet! vRS or R32?!

Bodge,

if you not got /gettin a Rear ARB on the car then stick wi the vRS front bar. if you gonna get a 25mm/28mm rear one on then get the R32 bar. the R32 bar will make the car understeer lots more if you dont put one on the back.

I would also like to kow how you get on mate, as its something I wouldnt mind doin at some point. also I am not sure about the 22mm bar and 21mm front bar bein a good combo? jet us know what its like for understeer? as I have a feelin you might need to go stiffer on the rear????

all best

Powerflex 23mm bush (PFF85-411-23)

If your arb brackets have a groove in the middle (on the inside) then you will be fine using them.If you look at your arb bracket and there is a bulge then you have the correct ones.

My powerlex ones have lasted 8months and have now decided to expand.Powerflex have now copied superpro design.

You have 3 choices for the rear bush

New powerflex one

Superpro

or Audi TT/Leon LCR bush which is like the VRS bush but not voided so is more solid.

There is another choice but i need to finalize if this is going to work 1st.;)

Thanks folks.

Keep you posted when I fit it. Was thinking of going for a 25mm rear ARB anyway as I am used to the current set up and want it stronger

If the R32 is 21mm why should i get the 23mm superpro one. Am I missing something?:rotz:

I was also thinking that route to.

I know of someone with the TT rack(same as R32) give 2.5 turns. plus wishbones etc. I think you need the VRS Hubs though, but should all work and give better camber..

I saw a whole subbframe from a Mk4 R32 including all those parts, on ebay and was so tempted. Wife stopped me spending a few hundred quid...

I think you will need the TT hubs as the wishbones mount slightly different and TT wishbones give slight camber adjustment.

dont the vRS ones do that?

cant you adjust the 3 bolts underneath to adj the toe and cambe slightly(only very slight)???
