glow plug light

Featured Replies

does anyone have a problem with their glow plug warning light? Mine seems to come on every so ofet but then after a while disappear. Also as I did not receive an owners manual when I bought the car I am having difficulty with the hazard warning lights - they dont work. Can anyone tell me if this woiuld be a fuse problem? Checked online and it showed that it was a 15 amp fuse at position 39. My car is not wired for position 39

Hi

Both are quite common

The glow plug light problem , when it is on , check and see if you have brake lights

It could be the brake light switch or blown bulbs

As for the hazzard`s not working , there is a relay behind the switch

So a replacement hazzard switch could be the problem

Both items are not expensive

Hope that helps?

Sarah

And check the floor for wetness, if you have the problem that lets water in through the pollen filter it can play havock with the car electrics, as Sarah said the brake switch when it goes wrong throws on all sorts of "unrelated" problems.

thanks, the problem was the dpf fluid was not at the correct level. £40 @ litre so expensive to sort

If you take the flasher relay apart, you will find that the contacts just need adjusting - they are assembled with insufficient pre-load when closed.

(Another thing VAG have been doing for the last 10 years - when will they learn?).
