Remote Locking BROKEN!

Featured Replies

Today i was sat in my car listening 2 some music with the engine off and when i tried to start the car the battery was DEAD :o

So after perswading a couple of mates to push my tonne of a car up a hill so that they could push me down it to bump start me i was away and i went for a drive without any electrical equipment on for about 20miles.

When i got home i went to lock the car with the "bleeper" and nothing happened so i had to use the key to lock the doors and of course this doesnt activate the alarm :thumbdwn:

I rang skoda and told them what happened and they seemed rather confused lol they told me that maybe it wasnt working because the battery didnt have enough charge and told me to leave the car idling with the lights on.

I did this for aprox 1hour but still no luck!

Anybody have any ideas of what might of happened?

I did ask the guy that if when the battery was flat that the "bleeper" had somehow unsync'd with my car and he said this was unlikly as he had never herd of it before.

I also turned the immobilsor off and back on again under the bonnet with the key provided.

This is a manufactured alarm and centeral locking system.

Hope i've given enough detail for someone to help!

:)

Does the battery definitely have enough juice?I'd go on a longer journey. I'm not sure idling with the lights on is sufficient to charge the battery a great deal and more likely to waste petrol. The other option is to buy a battery charger and to remove it from the car to charge. Aldi, Tesco, or Wilkinsons may sell a cheapish car battery charger.

Battery in the remote definitely ok?

Ok well im going to keep driving the car and replace the battery in the remote it worked fine the morning before the battery died but its proberbly worth putting a new one in because it must be over year old by now!
