Battery swap

Featured Replies

Well the vRS is 5-6 years old and the battery is near the end. Just a stright foreward swap or do i need to get power on to advoid losing codes for anything?

Cheers

Mike

Just changed my battery and used a draper memory saver from halfords (£13) and it works a treat - otherwise you will have set radio memory and possibly code, set clock, and initialise windows - though this is all easy enough to do it just saves a bit of time and messing about.

hope that helps.

Radio in my car, elegance tdi, the radio gets the code from the engine management box. replace the battery and turn it all on after a few seconds the code message disappears.

Thanks Guys

I ran a couple of wires to my Father's car & kept everything "Live" while i did the swap. Everything appears to be a OK. BTW Any idea what an 04 Octy MK 1 vRS with FSH on 45,000 miles is worth?

Cheers

Mike
