Anyone fitted one of these lower grilles?

Thinking it might look OK on my silver vRS and protect the very vulnerable air-con condenser.

Am I right i in saying you will still retain the original chrome surround with that. or do you intend to buy that as well

There's no surround - its the lower grille.

ah so it does. my bad. i think i would look good, but needs to be complemented with the top grille being the same as well

I have the milotec lower grills fitted to my non vRS octy. Different bumper and part I know, but it does seem to improve the frontend.

So you want protection; how important is style? If style is not critical how about this?

£2.50 worth of galvanised wire mesh from your local Wicks/Homebase/B&Q; spray painted black; cut to size; ends wrapped around the end upright fin of the OE grill and otherwise held in place by 6 neatly positioned 2mm black cable ties.
