RAM is not found for this!

Featured Replies

Hi good old Soviet here,

I did do the hard disk up grade for Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V2055 for my son as lately, and this one went fine. I changed from 40GB had drive for Western Digital 160GB scorpio 7200RPM.

Now I come to change RAM from 256 Mb to 2x 1GB. and I have the problem here.

I made the order with fast flashstore on e-bay for Major kit 2GB DDR2 667Mhz 5300 SODIMM CL=5

I try this in slot 0 and slot 1 but I get the incompatibility beeps here. Fast flashstore ask me to do the BIOS upgrade, and I download .ISO image file from Fujitsu Siemens and make BIOS fron 1.0c version to recent 1.0F version, but this is not changing the problem.

I then RTA number and return RAM to Fast Flashstore, as we do not have any more of the ideas. Then I do Crucial memories software scan and order RAM from them now, but this came to me today, and had uncompatibility beeps with it also here. I now need to do the return for these as well now.

Then I had good fortune as I read on the web that, RAM for this machine must have only a certain type of chip on boards, and so even if spec is same as should be here, with out the correct chip it will not do the boot up.

Does any one know of this problem here?

Thank you

This site is listing different compatible memory for that laptop.

Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro V2055 - Memory ( RAM ) Upgrade from Orca Logic Ltd

if 1gb chips didnt work you may have a max ram limit of 1gb, so try 2x512mb ones.

Hi Mannyo, and thank you for the link for this one here. From Fujitsu Siemens I am knowing now that 1GB will be working OK in slots 0 and 1 with not a problem

I have done google now and it tells me part number FPCEM165 is for Fujitsu Siemens manufacture, and chip density needs to be for this. I have seen ORCA logic link, and these look to be correct.

Thank you for giving me thehelp with this.

Regards for you
