New !8"s RS8/A8

Featured Replies

I have these in 18's with skoda center caps. They came with the wheels and are just 90mm gel badges that stuck onto the cap.

Word of warning on replica alloys, mine have been on about 10 months now and the lacquer is lifting all over the place. I am torn between a refurb of these in anthracite or original spiders in anthracite.

Sorry to hi jack this thread, but how much would you expect to pay to get your original spiders refurbed in anthracite?? was thinking about this for my black octy...but dont want to get ripped off

depends where you live really but locally i have been quoted about £40-£60 per wheel

Was going to go for the RS4's but i saw this pic, and have changed my mind. Can you get Skoda centre caps for these wheels and if so doesn anyone know where from

I have been quoted £55 a corner at pristine wheels who are very local to me. I sold my original spiders unfortunatley so would have to source some replacements.

yeah they are quality too big for me to, but they look good in 18"s i think.

Did consider refurbing my stock ones as they in in pristine condition, but by the time i did that £240, and put new rubber on £200 might aswell just buy new rims

Honestly refurbing your vrs rims is your better option.

The rubber you get with these rims is crap. I really couldn't wait to get it replaced.

They are heavy, standard vrs rims are incredibly light

Quality of the finish is questionable considering the lacquer lifting in such a short time.

You will also spend considerably more when tyres are due

If I had given it more thought and not been seduced by pictures of rims on here I would have gone for the refurb and been very happy.

Hi, includind removing the tyres and re fitting and balancing, a place near me charge £200 for anthracite, and then an extra £5 per wheel to add another speckle of colour....cheap as chips and iv had work done there before and its spot on...

£200 isn't cheap as chips - quite a few places do it for less than that

Where do it for less? i was told that was cheap (and not by the bloke himself)

oi oi :D

the fame of my car travels far and wide lol

:orb_raisi

i love my wheels

glad i could inspire

to be abit more of use

my centers are actually bonnet and tail badges. mounted on with some black acrylic sealent to give a look like its actually a rubber to sort out the arch

acrylic was alot more easy to work with, as silicone would be a bitch to get off when it smears around the center cap

they have been fully speed tested

£180 per corner last time i asked

Very nice!!

Delightful. I'll be sticking with my spiders I think.

Look great though ;)

not a fun event im looking forward to, the tyre change

the car doesnt move much so i can but hope they last

cheers for all the thumbs up tho

hi Llyod what is the ride quality like on 20 inch wheels?im thinking of going for 19 inch wheels,so would be 35 profile tyres not far off your 30 profile,i have koni sport shocks with h+r springs and the ride is firm, just wondering what it would be like with 19s on,or do i just play safe and get 18s.

As a frequent passenger IMO the car rides fine and certainly handles ok

To be honest matey, i dont find it too bad

not to say if you catch a sneaky hole or pebble lol its will happily let you know

but that said, i lowered my mrs fabia vrs on weitec springs and put a set of 17" spiders on and there no doubt that lil thing will hit and ride harder than my octy does on the kw coilys and 20s

i think you'll find there is a noticable more amount of tyre to the 35/19? as people are quick to notice the lack of rubber around my rims

all said and done, i love them and in my stupidness they still amuse me greatly

i just thank the lord for adjustable ride height  it took a while to get the car to co-operate with them :argue:

but it was to be lowered on 20s :jab:

sorry- just noticed that you got springs n shox. hmmm? i cant say what mine is dropped these days ? if you did fancy that extra inch if you stick a thread askign for peoples rim size and drops im sure the jolly brisk folk will help you along mate
