Help with identifying ABS relay fuse

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'll try and be very brief. I've got the ABS lights up on the dash. I've had it on the computer at my local dealer who has told me it's a faulty relay on the ABS Pump. Great I thought....new relay...no light..all good for MOT (looming soon). Alas they're having trouble telling me if the relay is incorporated in the WHOLE pump or if it is seperate and replaceable. It's on a 51 Fabia Estate 1.9 Tdi.

Any info or help greatly appreciated as a whole pump is not an option.

If they have scanned it and it showed a flow return pump relay fault, then I would think that the ABS system is powering up as normal. If it wasn't, they would not be able to access it to read the codes.

I have looked into this problem before, and recall that I came to the conclusion that the relay is an integral part of the pump, which is not what you want to hear.

The alternatives are:

A new/reconditioned pump

A used pump - not easy to find if the car has the Bosch 5.7 system with ASR.

Getting your existing pump repaired.

There are different versions of the pump used on the Fabia. The Skoda part number is engraved on the top of the pump body between the pipes and the control unit casing, it will begin 6Q, and on the underside of the control unit, there will be a sticker with the Bosch part number on it.
