MK1 Octy RS performance exhaust-which one?

Featured Replies

Hi people quick question to all you knowledgable performance junkies. I'm considering an exhaust upgrade for my 2004 MK1 Octy rs. It's standard other than a Revo remap. What do you guys think of Blue flame/Scorpion and Miltek? What is resonated/non resonated? Just silencing? With cost in mind which is best and is it worth going for complete system with downpipe and sports cat on what is a very mildly tuned car?

Thank in advance

Jim:thumbup:

dont waste your money if your after it for performance unless your planning a turbo upgrade too, they cost an awfull lot of money for little gain.

Otherwise you can't beat the sound of a non resonated BlueFlame Turbo back with 100cel sport cat

Why does everyone forget Piper :(

Think they need to work on their marketing. But that aside, lovely bit of kit. Been on my car for 2 years now and i think its perfect. Available in a selection of tailpipe choices also :)

But to answer your question. If you are only going to Stage 1 software then a cat back system will be fine. If/When you got to stage 2 or more then you do need to upgrade the downpipe and cat at that point.

I hope this helps.

Maybe we need some sound or drive by clips of the Piper Garry

Think I should :-)

Once my brakes are fixed anyway, lol.

I know Rob Clubley is also awaiting the vids :-)

Blueflame & 100cell sports cat, worth every penny (a lot of pennys tho)

IMO Scorpion are Good quality and sound really nice and also fairly cheep

Bringing this thread back from the dead :p

Did you ever produce any clips? I'm now in the market for an exhaust after some nice insurance quotes :D

I'll get one 2moro of my 100 cell and full blueflame

They do sound good on the move although very very expensive

Hello :)

I did indeed get some great little videos but sadly had to quickly run up to Scotland for a job change so have not had a chance to upload them.

I shall chase my better half to load them up for me and stick them on here.

Kind Regards

Garry

That would be great :D

Yep I too would like to hear that, I can't decide either piper or blueflame :)

My Blueflame didn't sit straight and they sent the wrong tailpipe. Getting them to send the correct tailpipe took ages + many emails and phone calls, which were mostly ignored. When I did actually get through to the manager, he just fobbed me off- 'Oh it's just being polished for you now' etc etc. Then I'd have to wait a couple more weeks with no tailpipe, before phoning yet again. SHOCKING customer service. Had to take it to my local custom exhaust specialist to get the rear hanger removed and a new one welded on in the correct place.

Would never buy from them again.

My Blueflame sits fine on my current Octy, but on my last one, the Blueflame on that sat down at one side. Quite annoying.

They sound superb though. :)
