Which springs and where to buy?

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I'm looking to get the Fabia off it's stilts by getting a spring kit for it. Don't know anything about H&R but know a little more about Eibach as I have Prodrive(made by Eibach) springs on my WRX. The Eibach web site doesn't seem to have a listing for the Fabia11 so I'm at a bit of a loss at the mo.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance, Niall's Fabia.

o o o me to please i have a mk2 fabia 1.4tdi sport :)

i had the pro kit on my car. the ride was hard, and you will scrape on some bigger speed bumps. but its a must do mod

I've got them on my 1,9 TDI sport, and I like them a lot! Not to hard, and not to soft. Haven't had any issues with snow or speed bumps on my car.

any pics ???

The springs you refer to for a 2007 onwards car are listed as for both a 1.4 and a 1.9 TDi. Doesn't the difference in the engine weight have any effect on their suitability? Also, the description says "lowering by up to 40mm" - how much do these springs actually lower by? Finally, are they suitable for the estate as well as the hatch?

That is the one for the estate

The diesel engines are heavy , but the weights make a difference

But these are the issues that they take in to account , also things like DSG and also automatic gearboxes ETC.

The estate is different to the hatch

As to the specific lowering , you can`t get it bang on , as all cars differ

But that is an approx

3mm difference either way is not alot really

That's very helpful. But is there a product that offers more like 20-25mm lowering? My car (Fabia 1.9TDi Estate) definitely needs some lowering and stiffening of its roly-poly suspension, but I don't want it to look like it's been lowered beyond what would be normal for a standard car of its type.

Weitec offer some springs that lower 35/35 and are £130.21 + VAT

KW do some for £123.40 + VAT and they lower 30mm

They are specifically for the estate too

Sarah

That's great - is there anything to choose between the three makes in your opinion?

Mmmmm , now there is a question???

KW own Weitec , so both will be cracking quality , and Eibach are too

So I would say , all 3 are good

Preference would be down to the height , I would have though........
